Forest Cafe is a number one place for alternative culture in Edinburgh and a space where everyone can put an event for free. Now due to the bankruptcy of the EUS organisation that owned this building the venue is put up for sale. This is a very sad news for people who used to meet in the Forest Cafe regularly to take part in concerts, workshops and art exhibitions, use free internet, enjoy vegetarian food or to swap clothes and books.
Now in order to save the Forest Cafe £500 000 needs to be raised. There is a huge action taking place for those who would like to keep this venue alive.

Thx for putting up this new about Forest cafe, I didnt know they were in financial problems. Forest Cafe its an INSTITUTION in Edinburgh. We all have to do our bit to try to save this place.

The forest cafe is important for alot of arts in edinburgh. Music is of course a big scene and alot of indepentant artists play at the venue. I have played here a few times with some truly great musicans.
It will be a great shame if this space is closed down. They need to rally and put on gigs with a charge to keep the doors open.
